Welcome to the Piney Ridge Village Center website. Much of it is still under construction, so please bear with us. We'll do our best to get as much useful content uploaded as we can, but ... (drum roll, please) ...
... since our Site Plan was approved by Carroll County's Planning Commission on March 20, 2007 (!!) we have a lot of other work to complete, too. Much as we'd like to have an interesting website for you to visit, we're even more excited about offering you a terrific place to shop, relax, celebrate, or maybe even work. And the sooner we get some shovels in the ground,the sooner all that hoping will become a reality.
Now that we have formal permission to develop the project, getting the permits we'll need to actually start digging will likely take a few more weeks. We also have a Public Works Agreement we're waiting to receive so we can execute it. So, you might not see a lot of activity at the intersection of Johnsville Road and Piney Ridge Parkway in that time, but that will all change as soon as we get our grading permit.
Four years is a long time to wait for something like this (we started in June 2003), but ... here we go -- it's really going to happen!
At an August 2006 Planning Commission meeting a Carroll County Official not exactly known for his eagerness to embrace new development told the Commission members that, "This project sets the bar for all commercial development in the County in the future." We appreciate his support and optimism -- especially since we have worked very diligently with our Architects (J.T. Fishman & Associates) and Engineers (DeMario Design) to mix function, design and texture to create the first "Main Street" commercial property in the area.
We hope you'll like the way Piney Ridge Village Center looks, and the way it fits into its surroundings as a part of them, not an interruption imposed upon them.
